Hi y’all, I’m Darla. I was born and raised in the East Texas area. I went to Bullard ISD from 3rd grade through 12th. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin University, and have worked as a personal trainer in the Bullard and Tyler communities for 20 years. I have a grown son, and 2 young kiddos currently attending Bullard school. I’m recently divorced and starting over fresh. In January I was diagnosed with a corneal disease called Keratoconus. The disease is degenerative and progressive. There is surgical treatment available that can halt the progression of this disease, as well as restore some of the vision that has been lost, but these procedures are not covered by insurance, and the cost is substantial. To help out, my friends are organizing this incredible Fun Run event to help raise funds to cover the cost of my surgery.
